When the bids for the vehicle testing contracts were opened, the French company Bureau Veritas-Bivac was in the leading place for all four lots, each of which concerns a particular region.
However, the Mozambican government does not want any company to be awarded more than one contract, so Bivac will have to choose between the four lots. It will most probably opt for one of the two contracts that share Maputo coupled with one of the provincial regions.
The other bidders, all of which are Portuguese companies, will therefore have to share out the three remaining lots. This bid was initiated at Bivac by Corinne Block. She has since left the company and gone to Transdev, so the technical aspects of this matter are now being handled from Paris by François Mity, Bivac's automotive and logistics expert.
